Morning with Romney

We were able to go to a luncheon for Mitt Romney in Boise.  It was so nice!  I loved meeting him and listening to him.  We were able to get our picture with him but I will show that later.  I wish I wouldn't get so caught up in these things.  My husband wishes that too because I am always looking at the polls etc.  Here is hoping Mitt does well in the debate tonight & in Michigan & in Arizona & etc. etc.  If not, give us our (that is for you Klint-haha) money back!!

Our table- who took the center picture?

Aww-precious

And who did we get seated by?  Mark and Jerry Hess!  We had a good time talking about old times.

And here he is!!

And such a polite guy--honestly, how do they do it with all their places to go?
Wish I had more pictures but at least I have these!

What did I love most about the day?  He said my name right!!!!!!!

My 70th Birthday!!

Las Vegas

The family--Jaime was watching the baby so she isn't pictured

George and I

Wow, what can I say?  This was my best birthday ever!  George planned an "adults trip only" (except for little Remi) to Las Vegas.  We had three nights of shows, shopping and just being together.  I have to thank Betsy & Tiffany for all the work they put into putting together notes from 70 friends and family.  I am strill reading them and crying over them.  They were even able to get some of my piano students to write, old friends from town and out of town, friends in my neighborhood and in church.  Thank you for the tons of work you did and thank you to all of my children who came to make this the most memorable birthday of my life!  Thursday we went to see Terry Fator's show, Friday was all about Elvis and Saturday was Donnie and Marie.  Here are some pictures!

This is where we stayed.  Also Trump and Romney were around but we didn't get to see them.  Trump's endorsement of Romney was at this hotel.

Checking in for four-George, me, Tiffany, and Remi

Jaime and Brady came Thursday night so we hung out for awhile and shopped.

You can't see Jaime due to the lighting but she is there!

Brett gives me a kiss upon arrival-what a sweetheart!

Hangin out at the hotel

I open George's gift--a beautiful bracelet!

Of course, it has to look like Brady is picking his nose but not!

Jaime, always so pretty

Dinner at the nice "Olive" restaurant.

Remi gets an expensive snack!

Donnie and Marie.  We were all sitting at a table closest to the stage on the right.  I got 3 "high fives" from him.

Weekend get-a-way

The Airds and us were able to get away for a couple of days and head for McCall.  It was so cold there but, at least we saw some snow!!  We were surprised, however, that there were so few ice sculpures this year.  We were content with seeing a small parade, having pizza, and birthday cake (which they surprised me with)!  We also stayed up late on Friday night playing Phase 10.

My friend, Kris, enjoying the fireplace at Marcie & Bett's condo

Kris and I.  It was so cold everywhere (10 degrees), we were excited to find a little cafe where we drank more hot cocoa than a person should!

Our poor husbands saving a place for us outside

gathering for the parade

Pirates, of course, what else?

We saw this little girl's handbag at the "Pancake House" and thought it was so cute with the little puppy inside.  Kris said how much it looked llike something Tiffany would make.

Sleeping Beauty

Remi-Tiff's little girl.  A lot of work, but worth it!  The picture is temporarilly framed.  It is just to show what the pic looks like with a frame.  The paint isn't even dry yet!!

What I have been doing lately!

The nativity skit at Christmas time re-enacted by the grandchildren

Kate wants to wear my wedding dress when she gets married.  She tried it on when she was visiting awhile back.  I wanted to capture the moment in oil.  I thought of a background that would make her the focal point and gave her the picture at Christmas time.

Part of the 4 dozen cinnamon rolls I made yesterday-with chocolate chips and raisins.  Lots of chocolate because I only had large chocolate chips at the moment!

Tiffany and children got to come after Christmas for a few days.  I always enjoy having them!

Done- My art room looks great!

This is the computer I can use.  The window above looks into my bedroom but I can't actually see into it because it is a mirrored window.  The reflections of the art room windows can be seen in it.

Set to paint - I love the sink too!

More cabinet space and slots for canvases

You can see most of it here with 2 windows above

windows above--Looking out at the homes is a picture in itself.  There is a golden cast to the windows and cabinet but it is the sun.  The trim and walls are actually kind of a tan.
